Clean Environment

Since 2008, greenhouse gas emissions have dropped by 12.3 percent as electrical power stations shift to clean-burning, abundant, and inexpensive natural gas. In fact, power generation is the only sector that has seen a decline in GHG emissions. Imagine the progress toward a cleaner environment as natural gas-powered vehicles take to the road.

From our waterways to our air to our soil, the region is cleaner than it has been since the days colonists arrived. That’s not happening in spite of our major industries – it’s happening because of them. Working hand-in-hand with technology based business, Pittsburgh and the region are enjoying cleaner air and water.

Pittsburgh Works Together is committed to these collaborative efforts because whether you’re a gas driller or a computer programmer, we all breathe the same air, drink the same water, and eat the same food.
