White Notch ReverseWhite Notch

In part 1 of our interview with Pennsylvania State Senator Gene Yaw, he lays out the precarious position of the PJM electric grid, which supplies electricity to our state and numerous others in the Mid-Atlantic region. Power plant retirements and surging demand mean Pennsylvania could face a shortfall of 80,000 megawatts by 2030. Senator Yaw explains the urgent need for a clear plan of action, including serious investment in new energy infrastructure. In his words, “We should have shovels in the ground working on this right now.”
