Supreme Court Should Rule in Favor of PA Residents, Not RGGI

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, a multi-state effort that was supposed to be good for consumers and good for the environment. But Pennsylvania already generates cheaper, carbon-free electricity than any RGGI state.

Pennsylvania produces more carbon-free electricity than any other state in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). If the PA state supreme court rules in favor of RGGI’s constitutionality, its carbon taxes would further hamstring power generation at a time when we need significantly more supply to meet rising demand.
