(ECO Health, July 2024)
This report card provides a transparent, timely, and geographically detailed assessment of Chesapeake Bay and its Watershed. Since 2016, UMCES has engaged stakeholders throughout the watershed to transform the report card into an evaluation of the Chesapeake Watershed health.
PGH Works Perspective
The latest report card on the health of Chesapeake Bay from the University of Maryland gives the second-highest grade (out of 13) to the Upper Bay fed by the Susquehanna River. This is a result of Pennsylvania working with public- and private-sector partners and the ag industry to improve water quality and cut pollution. Collaboration can deliver real environmental improvements.
